2015 Short Story Competition: We Have a Winner

Pile of booksAt a spirited evening of music and poetry at Poco Coffee last night, we announced the winner of the 2015 Prescot Festival Short Story Competition.

We’d asked authors to submit tales of 1,000 words or fewer inspired by the theme ‘Treasure.’ The £100 prize, donated by contest originator Edna Weaver, went to Dave Loftus.

The judges found his cleverly crafted short story, ‘Opal and Jasper,’ both amusing and entertaining, full of life, character and whimsy.

The winning entry will be published in an upcoming Prescot Parish Magazine, as well as online here.
