The Prescot Festival’s Christmas celebrations were a wonderful success, with almost £1,500 raised on 12 December for local causes.
The Mayor of Prescot’s Charity Christmas Concert brought in a crowd of almost 500 and total funds of exactly £1,419.96, to be divided among specially chosen Prescot charities at the end of Cllr Pat Cook’s tenure as mayor.
The joyous family occasion featured Brassworks Quintet – one up on the promised quartet! – and school and staff choirs from Evelyn Community and St Mary & St Paul’s CE Primary Schools, as well as Prescot Parish Church Choir. The Bluebell Park Makaton Signing Choir were a particular treat, making their Prescot debut.
On Sunday 22 December, all are welcome to Prescot Parish Church at 6.30pm for a Festival of Lessons & Carols, opening by candlelight and featuring prayers, readings, traditional Christmas carols and music from Prescot Parish Church Choir.
