Love Is in the Air

It rather seems that love is in the air around Prescot these days. On Sunday, 5 February, Prescot’s loveliest soprano, Laura Hudson, will be joined by her operatic friends for the song recital LOVE WENT A-RIDING.

From 16 to 18 February, the Rainhill Garrick Society will present 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD, the classic play telling the true story of a romance that bloomed between a bookseller in London and a collector in New York. They never met in person, but their tale became immortalised in the 1970 book by Helene Hanff, the 1987 Hollywood film starring Anthony Hopkins and Anne Bancroft, and this stage adaptation by James Roose-Evans.

No doubt there’ll be some romance among the tunes offered by the ROYAL LIVERPOOL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA as they visit Knowsley on 24 February. The concert, which takes place at the new Knowsley Leisure and Culture Centre in Huyton, will feature selections from some of the West End’s best-loved musicals.

Finally, if Canadian crooner Michael Bublé gets your heart throbbing, there’s a chance to see a MICHAEL BUBLE TRIBUTE ACT at the Huyton Suite on 25 February.
