Christmas Concert Raises £1.25K

prescot_festival_christmas_concertThank you!

Our 2013 Christmas Concert saw over 400 performers and audience packed inside Prescot Parish Church, and the event raised an impressive £1,250 for good causes.

South Liverpool Orchestra’s jaunty programme included Sleigh Ride and the Can-Can, to which appreciative listeners clapped and cheered along.

There were also turns from no less than four local choirs, including the children of St Mary & St Paul’s, and Evelyn Community primary schools. Even the Evelyn staff did their bit, with a stirring rendition of O, Holy Night.

Also on the programme were the choirs of Prescot & Whiston Methodist Church and Prescot Parish Church.

The crowds were not short on festive feeling, joining in traditional carols such as Hark! The Herald Angels Sing and O Come, All Ye Faithful with appropriate enthusiasm.

Of funds raised, £625 goes to the Mayor of Prescot’s chosen charities, and £625 goes towards the whopping repair bill for the parish church’s Jacobean roof.

(The photos show just a fraction of the final audience, as they settled into their seats before the concert!)

Would have loved to be there. Nice to see so many people enjoyed the evening.
