Last week’s Christmas Concert had the event’s biggest audience yet, with 420 people packed in to Prescot Parish Church.
The occasion, organised annually by the Prescot Festival, raised £1,112.40 for the Mayor of Prescot’s Charity.
Brassworks Quintet headlined the event, with St Mary & St Paul’s School Choir, Prescot Parish Church Choir, Knowsley Ladies’ Choir and the staff and pupil choirs of Evelyn Community Primary School also on the programme.
Tunes included the Cyndi Lauper hit ‘True Colours,’ as well as festive favourites such as ‘Away in a Manger’ and ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas.’
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of a national award for Prescot Festival director Dr Robert Howard. The honour, from the British Arts Festival Association (BAFA), recognised Rob’s ‘Exceptional Achievement’ in founding and sustaining the Prescot Festival over the past decade.
