2019 Young Instrumentalists of Prescot

Three Knowsley schools took part in the 2019 Young Instrumentalists of Prescot.

Evelyn Community Primary School hosted the event, which featured its own musicians, along with pupils from Our Lady Catholic Primary School and Cronton CE Primary School.

Where for several years the event was a competition, with winners for each of the Key Stages from 2 to 4, more recently it has been a showcase for the musical talent and skill in Knowsley schools, rather than a direct contest.

The David Rose Trophy is presented in memory of the late Reverend David Rose, the dearly missed Prescot priest and businessman who was not only a music lover, but a steadfast supporter of the Prescot Festival.

The participants will share the shield, displaying it in their respective schools for a few months each, until next year’s concert.

Our congratulations to all who took part. They were:

Evelyn Community Primary School: James, Mia, Amelie, Emme, Ruby, Ronnie and Thomas (violin), and Poppy (flute)

Cronton CE Primary School: Ella (clarinet)

Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School: Rhadika (piano)

Our thanks also to the Mayor of Prescot, Cllr Pat Cook, and her consort, Stella Watkin, for attending the event.
