Our heartfelt thanks to all who helped make this year’s Parish Musicians in Concert a success.

The event grew out of an annual recital given by Tim Hall, organist of Prescot Parish Church since 1979. Over the years, various instrumentalists and vocalists have joined him for the occasion, and in 2016 it was relaunched as Parish Musicians in Concert.
After an unavoidable three-year gap, we returned to the format on Friday 23 September, showcasing Tim Hall alongside sopranos Rebecca Peers, Elizabeth Cooney and Laura Hudson, tenor David Kernick, pianist Stephen Mannings and the ever-versatile Rob Howard on piano, violin and bassoon.
Audiences enjoyed such pieces as Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s How Can Love Survive? from The Sound of Music, Schubert’s Ave Maria and an electrifying aria from Verdi’s Macbeth.
Wine and nibbles rounded off an entertaining evening that raised a welcome £511 for parish funds.
